Anticipated Start Date: July 2024 Position Summary: The Campus Director of DEI (CD-DEI) leads strategic initiative development, implementation, and evaluation in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The CD-DEI leads and develops the Campus DEI Center, leads the campus DEI Committee, and holds staff and faculty accountable for the use of data to inform and monitor progress towards closing DEI related opportunity gaps. Under the direct guidance of the Campus CEO, and in partnership with the foundation, the CD-DEI builds and sustains strategic community partnerships that benefit and support DEI related efforts and initiatives. This position drives the alignment of department goals and associated budgets with the CT State mission of support and resource application towards student success through an equity lens. Example of Job Duties: Under the direction of the of the Campus CEO and within the parameters set by the VP of DEI, the Campus Director of Diversity Equity and Inclusion Initiatives leads strategic initiative development, implementation, and evaluation in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion through effective performance in these essential duties: Leads DEI Center Leads campus level DEI initiatives design to closing DEI related climate and academic opportunity gaps within the context of collective bargaining agreements Builds and sustains strategic community partnerships that benefit and support campus DEI related efforts and initiatives Project and Event Management Informs campus’ budget development in alignment with DEI climate and academic opportunity gaps Leads biennial campus climate plan development and implementation This posting includes qualifications, experience and skills but is not limited to the full specifications stated in the job description.Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.). Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriately related field with two (2) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties. Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following: Non-academic student supports Equity-minded initiative and programing for students, staff, and faculty Community services and the development of community partnerships Program evaluation and reporting Supervision of staff Budget management Substitutions Allowed: Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position and by providing appropriate references. Preferred Qualifications: Experience implementing continuous quality improvement processes Experience in grant management and reporting Experience documenting success of initiatives that advance DEI goals and objectives Experience implementing a climate survey or similar instrument; and using the resulting data to drive change Starting Salary: Anticipated Salary; $97,546 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits.
