Practice Area: Criminal Law - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 1 Years, A law firm is seeking an Entry-level Criminal Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team in Dallas, TX. The candidate will report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, managing a caseload, advising clients on legal matters, attending hearings, and collaborating with the Criminal Defense Team. Duties:Manage a caseload, including client interaction and collaboration with the Criminal Defense TeamAdvise clients on legal rights and draft legal documents pertaining to their caseAttend pretrial hearings, advising clients on strategies following each hearingManage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal researchAnalyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedentsProvide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefitsAccrue additional evidence to support client cases or arguments against prosecution chargesPrepare clients for depositions, determine case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and expertsGain experience in Criminal Defense, particularly handling complex cases at federal, state, and local levels Requirements:Must be Barred in TexasInterest in gaining experience in Criminal DefenseExperience handling complex criminal cases preferredBilingual (Spanish) preferredExceptional interpersonal skills Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolBar admission in Texas Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and research skillsAbility to manage a high caseload effectivelyProficiency in legal software and research databasesAbility to work independently and as part of a team Benefits: The firm offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, an excellent compensation package, paid parking, paid time off, and more.
