For the people, and the future!” Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) award two-time recipient from INSIGHT into Diversity (2022,2023) Summary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Clinical Education (OCE). The primary functions of this position include providing management oversight of the third and fourth-year clerkships, monitoring and addressing administrative matters of third and fourth-year clerkship rotations, and supervising coordinators. The Director of Clinical Education must prepare, submit, and monitor the annual budget for the Clinical Education function. The Director of Clinical Education serves as the administrative liaison to the Office of Finance and HR for Clinical Education. The selected candidate will subscribe to and support our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Clinical Education. This position is exempt. The salary for this position starts at $75,000 depending on experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide support in the development of policy, structure, and procedures for pre-doctoral clinical education. Organize day-to-day administrative details and establish priorities for the OCE . Prepare, submit, and monitor the budget for Clinical Education. Provide the reports for accreditation compliance as requested. Provide the oversight and approval of preceptor payments. Work with the Finance Office to ensure the accuracy of monthly financial statements for Clinical Education. Serve as a member on various committees, as needed. Work closely with the Regional Academic Center Liaison to provide support for adequate rotations at Clinical Teaching Sites. Oversee the third and fourth-year clerkships to ensure the students are receiving the necessary training needed for entrance into graduate medical education (GME). Provide managerial support to the third- and fourth-year clerkships, monitor, and address administrative matters of third- and fourth-year clerkship rotations. Participate in meetings at Regional Academic Center (RAC) sites as needed. Assist with hiring support staff for Clinical Education. Responsible for the oversight of the third and fourth-year grades and submission to the registrar. Administrative supervision and management of remediation and interactions with SPC. Work closely with the Career Counselor on various reports, MATCH, and SOAP. Serve as Dean’s designated COMAT Coordinator in NBOME. Assist with the preparation of accreditation reports as requested. Oversight of COMAT and other exam assignments or management as needed. Provide administrative oversight of the interaction between CAPRI and New innovations for preceptor payment issues. Provide oversight for all Clinical Education reporting sessions at the curriculum committee. Responsible for initiating and monitoring the relationship with all the departmental administrative vendors. Provide oversight for any changes and updates to the department website. Review and provide oversight for any changes and updates to the Student Clerkship Manual, and SOPs. Administrative oversight of the ICR course. Assist with the preparation of accreditation reports as requested. Other duties as assigned. Other skills important to this position: Exceptional attention to detail. Must possess excellent communication skills, written and oral. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data. Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills that reflect the ability to prioritize competing demands and complete action items efficiently with minimal supervision. Demonstrate ability to interact with individuals from different cultures and professional backgrounds, and exercise “people skills” verbally and written. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree Proven experience in leading and managing a highly accountable work environment. Experience with Microsoft programs (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Preferences: Education: Master’s degree Experience in a medical school setting .
