General Accountant/AR - The Bama Companies Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Please see People Systems for complete Job Description At Bama, the General Accountant/AR has significant oversight responsibilities for company financial processes and procedures related to receivables and various other account components. Within this space the General Accountant/AR provides stewardship and guidance, acting as a resource to process owners and business partners. This person is responsible for maintaining financial records with the utmost accuracy, and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This person should be a business partner, able to participate in, and contribute to meetings, projects, and planning sessions. The General Accountant/AR should have a mindset of ownership and accountability requiring minimal supervision and guidance in carrying out daily duties. The position will help drive change to achieve company and departmental goals through employee development, technological advances, and process improvements. Integrity, good judgement and independence are critical requirements. The General Accountant/AR finds satisfaction in achieving positive team results, creating a positive work environment, and helping team members grow and achieve their goals. The candidate we seek will have a demonstrated capability of successfully participating in engaged work teams in streamlined, highly efficient environments. It is critical that this individual be an effective communicator. This position is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma and reports to the Accounting Supervisor . . Qualifications: Proficient in GAAP accounting. Strong foundational accounting understanding including debits/credits and major financial statement inputs. Two to five years of experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA certification (desired but not required). Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (desired) and Microsoft Excel, Access and Word. Demonstrate the ability to solve problem and work independently. Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Effectively manages multiple tasks at once and can solve problems in an efficient manner. Ability to focus on accuracy of details, while understanding the impact from a "big picture" perspective. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Role Description and Job Accountabilities: Pull receivable reports, post Accounts Receivable, apply cash and send invoices to customers daily, and clear back charges. Create weekly deduction report for customer service review and approval. Manage collections and delinquent accounts as necessary. Perform monthly trade spend and commissions accruals. Maintain accounts payable vendor master.
