Wilkes University invites applicants for a full time, calendar year faculty position at the rank of Faculty of Practice in the Department of Pharmacy Practice with a specialization in medication therapy management (MTM). This is a non-tenure-track position and is fully funded by Wilkes University. The faculty member will integrate into a clinical practice in collaboration with Geisinger Ambulatory Pharmacy Services and Geisinger Health Plan to complete telephonic comprehensive medication reviews and MTM services for patients enrolled in the Geisinger Health Plan and cared for in Geisinger Community Medicine practices. The central location of the clinical practice will be with Geisinger Telepharmacy in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The School of Pharmacy has a dynamic, comprehensive and innovative approach to pharmacy education. Our mission is "To educate and develop highly qualified professionals and notably contribute to the ever-changing science and practice of pharmacy." The focus of this faculty position will be the development and implementation of pharmacy practice experiences where students work with MTM software (Outcomes), document in the electronic health record (E PIC ), and complete a comprehensive medication review and MTM services. All patient encounters will occur by telephone. In addition to experiential activities, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to participate in didactic teaching, provide service to the school, serve as a student advisor, and engage in meaningful scholarship as time permits. On-campus responsibilities such as serving on school committees can be facilitated with remote access to preserve time for clinical practice activities. Successful candidates should have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and have completed a PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency in ambulatory care or community practice or have equivalent clinical experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
