Ensure accuracy of the financial position of Montereau through an adequate system of accounting processes, policies, and records, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF CONTROLLER Lead and manage direct reports to assure the desired level of resident service, care, and satisfaction. Monitor and evaluate employee performance; provide coaching, training, and corrective actions as required. Assure equitable administration of policies, and compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Develop and provide appropriate recommendations for the full range of employee and organizational matters, including staffing, compensation, promotion, and termination actions. Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Ensure the timely preparation of accurate routine and ad hoc monthly financial statements for management in order to effectively plan, forecast and administer Montereau's operations. Monitor the accounts receivable (AR) process to ensure that the billing and collections functions are handled thoroughly, timely and professionally in order to optimize the organization's financial position. Establish payment arrangements as necessary with residents to assist in settling debts to the organization. Monitor the accounts payable (AP) process to ensure that invoices are processed accurately and timely and within Montereau's approved processes, in order to maintain positive vendor relationships for the organization. Review management's general ledger classification decisions to ensure accuracy of financial reporting tools. Validate payroll processing to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Ensure all corporate bank accounts are reconciled timely and accurately in order to accurately depict the financial position of the organization and address any variance in accordance with Montereau's established policies and/or audit guidelines. Ensure accuracy of daily resident census, AR billing and collections and prepare associated management and regulatory reports as required. Coordinate debt financing and debt service payments ensuring timely payment and accurate record keeping. Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions. Assist CFO with the preparation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budget CONTROLLER QUALIFICATIONS Five to ten years of general accounting experience, including specific experience in payroll, AP, AR, and financial reporting, is required Three years of senior-level accounting experience required Previous not for profit accounting experience preferred Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, specifically within a Medicare billing organization, is preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training is preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required Strong working understanding of GAAP Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles Intermediate level proficiency in accounting software (Matrixcare preferred) Advanced level proficiency of Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Solid proactive problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of quality customer management and service Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to effectively interact with a diverse leadership team, staff, residents, and third-party associates, including vendors, providers, and visitors Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential communications and information, while maintaining a high level of poise, tact, and diplomacy An extensive amount of sitting, with a moderate amount of walking and standing, and an occasional amount of kneeling, bending at the waist, and reaching above the head and shoulders Ability to occasionally lift and push up to 25 pounds Frequent use of ordinary communication, including normal levels of hearing and vision Ability to use a computer or other office equipment for an extensive period of time Ability to occasionally travel by car and/or commercial airline Understanding and carrying out oral and written instructions and reviewing/preparing detailed reports and records Extensive use of arithmetic and performing calculations Planning own work and directing the work of others Working independently or as a member of a team, and the ability to work with limited supervision Routinely working on multiple tasks at the same time, under moderate amounts of pressure for results, with frequently changing priorities and requirements for extreme accuracy Location: 74136 Job Posted by ApplicantPro
