Corporate Controller – Holiday Oil

Job purpose The Corporate Controller is a proactive member of the Finance team, providing leadership and management of accounting and financial reporting activities. The Corporate Controller works with the leadership team, and a variety of internal and external stakeholders of Holiday Oil and Wagstaff Investments to drive company growth and initiatives. Supervisory responsibilities: • Leads and oversees accounting staff and functions including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reporting, accounts payable, inventory, banking, and budget preparation activities. • Participates and/or oversees talent acquisition of accounting and financial staff • Leads and manages the performance management process including employee reviews, conflict management and professional development. • Coordinates and identifies training programs/processes for effectively onboarding, training and maintaining the continued development of the finance department staff members. • Leads and/or attends relevant meetings associated with the leadership of the finance team and other relevant financial meetings as needed or directed. Duties and responsibilities • Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. • Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets. • Ensures all bank accounts are reconciled monthly and annually • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit. • Ensures all fuel and C-store inventory is reconciled monthly. • Presents recommendations to leadership on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. • Oversee all business, alcohol, and tobacco licensing. • Assists in annual financial review activities and/or audit of financial statements • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. • Ensures all State and Federal Taxes are paid • Compiles monthly and annual Financial Statements for Holiday Oil Company and Wagstaff Investments • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Skills and Education Requirements • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business Administration and/or five or more years of equivalent, relevant experience required. • Must be highly computer literate with data mining, Excel and ERP systems, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills. Page 2 of 3 • Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams. • The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting. • Experience in leadership of accounting teams. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to include spreadsheet mastery Job Posted by ApplicantPro
